Test it from your machine
Free proxies come and go, and some behave differently from your network. This prints the IP a website sees – the proxy's, if it works.
curl -x http://84.8.248.36:8686 http://api.ipify.orgpython -c "import requests; print(requests.get('http://api.ipify.org', proxies={'http': 'http://84.8.248.36:8686', 'https': 'http://84.8.248.36:8686'}, timeout=10).text)"Never send passwords or personal data through a public proxy. Its operator can read everything that isn't encrypted.
